These pressure vessels are filled with activated carbon and are used to clean pollutants in sewage. Activated carbon is particularly suitable for absorbing organic substances. As an alternative, the vessels are also suitable for the treatment of turbidity filtration during beverage processing. The vessels are construed designed for a maximum operating pressure of 5 bar.

At operating temperatures above 400 °C, it is necessary to test which stainless steel can be used, taking into account both the components of the media and the operating conditions. 1.4541 or 1.4571 can be considered up to temperatures of approximately 500°C, e.g. during continuous operation and with a dry medium. Alternatively, 1.4828 and 1.4841 can be used (these are high temperature stainless steels that can be used for temperatures reaching up to approx. 800° – 900°C). Such temperatures occur for example in engine test stands or in furnace technologies.

International projects are often bid for using materials produced according to the ASME-code. These generally conform to European standards and can be given both American and European stamps of approval. Both standards are verified in the material certificate and the material is also stamped with both labels at the factory. Typical ASME-stainless steel materials are 304L, 316L and 321 – LBF is experienced and has the proper credentials in matters of purchasing, documenting, and processing.

Steam exhaust silencers (also: tension release silencers) are often placed behind safety equipment such as valves or flaps. When these open, a large amount of steam flows, with an overpressure, into the tension release expansion stage (perforated steel plate throttle) which has been fitted with a silencer. In the upper part of the silencer there are sound-absorbing fittings, which reduce the noise of the valve and the flow noise according to the sound requirements.

Rectangular industrial silencers with connecting pipe and exhaust stack for polluted air. The welded silencer casing is equipped with inspection doors and removable splitters. The splitters can be vacuumed and wiped clean. The steel construction carries the complete load of the structure also allowing for wind load. The stacks are equipped with platforms and measuring points for regulatory inspections.

Stainless steel pipes for regenerative thermal oxidizer – RTO facilities at Exxon Mobil. The material is certified and PMI-tested (Positive Material Identification) on account of the refinery industries’ extremely rigid requirements for documentation, traceability and inspections. All welding is carried out under welding procedure specifications and qualifications. Non-destructive testing and approvals are done by TÜV, MTL and DEKRA.
