Profile and pipe frame structures are produced as powder coated, painted or hot-dip galvanised. They are used as a base structure for noise protection casings, as engine mounts or for whole CHP facilities. As a rule, the decision of whether the structure is completed in one piece or bolted together from various pieces is based, in part, on the structural design, on the assembly conditions on-site or the required surface treatment.

The central pipe with apparatus flange is fitted with lateral nozzles placed in regular intervals along the complete length of the pipe. These are used, among other things, as measuring points and must be precisely aligned and calibrated. The pipe is assembled from multiple sections and delivered in one piece. Provided documentation includes inspection certificates of the material and test protocols for the demension inspection, weld seam evaluation ISO 5817, quality level C and surface treatment – pickling.

Exhaust air or wastewater flow often accumulates in industrial plants and needs to be chemically or thermally treated – as an alternative, filter systems can be used. The customer or planner decides on the most sensible process and LBF designs and constructs the corresponding vessels –stainless steel 1.4301 or 1.4571 is usually used here with a typical thickness of 3-6 mm. In particularly critical cases, an additional interior coating (e.g. rubber lining) can be applied.

Cyclones are designed as centrifugal separators and, therefore, also used as filters. The construction is robust and contains no filter media (low-maintenance). The starting medium is blown in via the tangential media inlets. Solids and heavier components are guided downwards by gravity and passed through sluices or caught in dust collecting boxes.

Discolorations occur during welding due to oxidation. During operation these tempering colours would quickly lead to rust perforations and must, therefore, be thoroughly and completely removed. Pickling is the most reliable solution for this and is more dependable and cost efficient compared to brushing, grinding or blasting. In our LBF-pickling facility, both full immersion pickling and spray pickling are available. LBF full-surface pickles all stainless steel components – interiors and exteriors.

Ground surfaces are an element of the design; matt blasted surfaces are a further possibility. Typical grit finishes for ground sheet metal are 120 grit, 180 grit and 240 grit. Ideally, the structures are designed with few or no weld seams, as they would interrupt the grinding pattern. Weld seams and rough sheet metal surfaces must be ground for hygienic reasons particularly in food and beverage technologies, usually using roughness values of Ra < 1,6 µm or Ra < 0,8µm.
