DUCoaT – coated ducts – our Halar-duct is used to handle a wide range of corrosive exhaust streams when even stainless steel won’t suffice. It can be used in microchip, solar, wastewater, laboratory and electroplating technologies. In each of these industries, chemical processes take place in which reactive substances are used. Consequently, an INTERIOR COATING system is needed – DUCoaT!

A true LBF strength: finding and optimising technical solutions with our customers. Together with our customer’s ideas and our network of experience, we design products, provide services and complete projects. LBF can come aboard at any stage during a project – whether the solution is almost complete or if it is still unclear exactly what product is needed. Design sketches, brainstorming, sample productions, as well as taking measurements and testing all lead to finding a solution.

Fans are used for air extraction in exhaust air systems. This generates noise. Consequently, silencers are needed in the ducts. We offer rectangular Halar-coated silencers with integrated plastic splitters. The mineral wool is sealed in foil and placed in the sections of the splitter. The splitters are secured with bolted locking strips and can be easily removed in the direction of the air flow.

FM approval is required for the components, specifically for exhaust air systems, used in microchip facilities worldwide. As of 2001 LBF holds FM approval and is listed as a licensed supplier. The basis of which is a rigorous fire test at the American FM institute – wherein pipes and ducts are tested and certified for fire resistance and smoke emissions. In order to maintain FM approved status FM audits take place twice a year during production to confirm compliancy to manufacturing standards.

Aside from the standard duct system, special components are also needed in microchip facilities, such as silencers, multi-leaf dampers, or exhaust air collectors in tube form with diameters of several meters. These collectors are the key component of the exhaust air facility. This is where the exhaust air from all of the machines meets to then be redirected to the scrubber systems. If the collector fails, there will be a complete halt to production. The collectors must be statically calculated and designed; the maximum length of the single pieces is defined by the Halar-furnace measurements.

A well planned logistics management is worth its weight in gold, especially on large construction sites. In coordination with the customer, the components are given customer position numbers, which have already been included in the assembly plans. If needed, the packages are marked with an identification tag allocating the correct place on the construction site where it is to be assembled. For international projects thorough packing lists for the entire scope of delivery can be compiled upon request. For the freight, LBF has access to standard trucks and trucks with special functions, including those with cranes for unloading or low loaders.
