Duct for grain plant

Grains are pre-cleaned in the ducts – “the chaff is sifted from the wheat”. Typical duct cross-sections have edge lengths of 600 - 1200mm. On site several of these curved and welded duct assemblies are screwed together with other components to form a grain processing plant.

Exhaust gas duct for burners made of 1.4541

Depending on the application, exhaust gas lines are often operated under temperatures between 200° - 600°C. The material for the lines must be chosen based on the parameters: temperature, pressure, strength, and corrosion demands. The pipe or duct must be able to handle the linear expansions caused by these temperatures. For this, expansion joints and a combination of floating and fixed bearings are needed. Calculations for the piping network and a structural analysis are necessary for the planning and the drawings.

DUCoaT–duct system in microchip technology

DUCoaT – pipes and ducts with Halar-interior-coating are used in exhaust air facilities where highly aggressive exhaust process air from the machines is released into the atmosphere through the scrubber system. Available standards for pipes, fittings, connecting systems and special components, such as multi-leaf dampers and silencers, are compiled in our planning folder. Upon request we are happy to inspect rectangular systems and special parts, such as scrubbers, tanks and customer drawings to verify that they conform to FM regulations and stability.

Project Information
Material: 1.4301, 1.4404, 1.4571
Diameter: 50 mm – approx. 2.500 mm
Certification: FM approval
Sector: microchip, electroplating, solar, laboratory, waste water technologies

Exhaust air system for aluminium casting facility

Extraction systems for dust-laden filter systems are not only composed of fans, silencers, filter systems and cyclones, but also pipe lines (usually operating under low-pressure). This low-pressure has an advantage with regard to tightness; however, it also leads to higher demands on stability. Therefore, pressure, temperature and external loads (such as wind forces and bearing forces) are taken into consideration when designing the pipe – the thickness of the sheet metal, the flanges, as well as stiffening rings and inner reinforcements, are all specified in the design.

Material: S235JR, inner priming, externally painted
Sheet thickness: 2 – 4 mm
Diameter: approx. 500 mm – 2.200 mm

Stainless steel piping for industrial fans

Industrial fans – especially centrifugal fans – create average to large volumes of air with high pressures. In order to best technically and economically dimension the pipe and duct networks, exact specifications of the operating conditions are needed: medium, amount of over- and low-pressures, temperature and tightness requirements.  The system is planned on site and factors in such things as process data, air volume, duct cross-sections and components such as filters or heat exchangers. The pipe and duct systems are designed and produced based on all of these factors.

Material of pipe line: 1.4301
Material of steel construction: S235JR, hot-dip galvanised

Pipe lines with stainless steel expansion joints in the chemical industry

Pipe lines used for chemicals are designed in stainless steel. Depending on the corrosion load, simple or high-quality stainless steel, for example 1.4539, is chosen. Alternatively, additional interior coatings are an option, provided that the medium is not abrasive and the operating temperature is not too high. Expansion joints – shown in this project as stainless steel expansion joints – must be accurately specified with respect to required radial and lateral absorption of movement. This is, among other things, a result of the piping network calculations.
